Safety is important at all Grimes Asphalt and Paving job sites. We provide exceptional safety training, including ongoing classes and on-site learning in the company’s state of the art employee training center. The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) recognized Grimes Asphalt and Paving with the AGC/Willis Construction Safety Excellence Award. This national award is given to contractors who demonstrate a cultural commitment to safety.
At Grimes Asphalt and Paving, we know that nothing is more important than employee health, and safety. We consider the safety of our employees, and the general public, to be a matter of utmost importance. Our ultimate goal is to provide a healthy and safe environment for all employees. We comply with all applicable State and Federal safety requirements, and we are guided by best practices.
Employees at every level, including management, are responsible and accountable for the company’s overall safety initiatives. Complete and active participation by everyone, every day, in every job is necessary for the safety excellence that we expect. Management supports coordination of safety among all workers on the job site.
Grimes Asphalt and Paving expects active participation in the Safety Process by all employees and ensure they comply with company safety requirements as they relate to planning, operation and maintenance of facilities and equipment. Employees are responsible for following all procedures, working safely, and, wherever possible, improving safety measures.
Grimes Asphalt and Paving Employees complete SLAM each day to discuss and control the hazards of the job. We take the time each day to Stop, Look, Analyze and Manage operational risk on our projects.
Asphalt Paving Association of Iowa (APAI) Excellence in Safety Award – multiple year winner
